The conference provided network with more than 100 business contacts throughout the coal supply chain with a third of 2019 attendees representing end users from power, steel and cement markets.
Japan still sees coal as a low cost fuel with minimal geo-political risk. Coal fired thermal power accounts for one third of Japan’s energy production. Being one of the largest coal supplier to Japan, Carbo One made a presentation on growing demand for premium quality coal in North-East Asia. The presentation included thorough analysis of coal handling capacities and expansion plans at Far Eastern coal terminals, freight rates, production and exports forecast, providing insight into opportunities available in this promising market.
